I’m starting to notice a number of these profiles out there that state not single/not looking. I found one last night where they talk about how they love to eat out and go out for drinks.
Something tells me that if the going out means paying your own way these people wouldn’t give the time of day. Is it something more sinsister like seeking validation for breathing air on this planet?
So you are seeing them on a dating site and on their profile they state "not single/not looking" ?
That's strange. I don't do dating sites; however, if I was searching on one of them, I would steer clear of this kind of profile. It may be a way to make someone "think" that they are not searching when indeed they really are.....like their partner or spouse in case they snoop and find their profile. Then they can say...."See honey....I wasn't searching for anyone other than a friend...I even stated I was "not single and not looking". That is a darn good name for the site they are on because it sure sounds pretty "fishy" to me.
I've found several, but most of them say they are looking for new friends or like-minded people. Even though it's a dating site, and it can be annoying sometimes, OLD is still an avenue people can use to find friends, so I'm not really upset about it.
However, I've stumbled upon a couple profiles that say something like "I'm not here to find men, I'm not looking. I'm here to look after my friends." Something similar to that. WTF? lol LIke you can't look after you friends from the comfort of there company as she scans through potential matches at home or on the phone.
I think it's an attention thing even though they're taken they still want to see if they can attract the opposite sex. I see a number of those profiles on POF I think they're really dumb.
Most likely seeking people to chat with, and nothing more. Or, perhaps, platonic friends at most
