I grew up with cousins like this. They get women and have sex with them but don't care about them other than sex.
HA! I think Han Solo's got him beat....

The description can encompass many different types.
Along with the three descriptions above, my cynical side also believes that a high sperm count/high fertility goes hand in hand with being a bad boy , as they seem to have multiple kids with multiple moms, and rarely support (and may not have the intellectual capacity to support) either the children or the mother (financially or emotionally). The beginning of the movie Idiocracy was a good representation of this situation.

All the girls I know who went for bad boys were idiots to begin with. Of course, there are things to learn from bad boys but time is never friendly to them or the idiots who decide to be around them.

I still like party girls. At least they enjoy life. I know some in their 70's and they are still having a great time.

Why wouldn't you trust a sorority girl?

I can say this, I've had women (more than a few) tell me I was a "nice guy" (I am, think old fashioned, hold doors for women etc) but being (now having been) a combat arms Marine and riding motorcycles covers the "bad boy" image for them nicely. (they have said "the best of both worlds")
I've also had more than one women tell me how they knew they never had anything to worry about (safety wise) when they were with me.

Women like both security and "risk" there have been studies on this, it even varries by "which day of the month" it is.

They're the same as party girls. Get drunk a lot and make bad choices. Not my type of woman.

I think its a misleading term, it doesn't mean the person is bad or a lawbreaker or even a "DB" it sort of just means a confident person who doesn't let women walk all over him. The opposite would be a guy who is afraid the woman will break up with him so he lets her do whatever she wants and acts spineless.

All the bad boy type guys I know get women like it's no tomorrow. Can't say the same for the timid nerdy guys that I know. Women are genetically predisposition to be attracted to tough acting and looking guys. Of course in the modern era brains are more important than brawn, but it does not change the primordial nature of people.
