I always tell my gf to text me when she gets home or I am coming looking for her.

I know that there are people that tell everyone to text them when they get to their destination, of course there are valid occasions for this, but more often than not this request strikes me as patronizing.

That makes sense, but I live literally a five minute drive from where we were which he was aware of, and he was the one with a 45 minute drive home. Idk I guess I just don't get asked that very often after a first meeting, so maybe it just took me by surprise that's all.

For the 3 years my fiance and I were dating, we always did this as our nights together would often end very late and I wanted to make sure he got home safe.

I do it with my fiance, family, and friends I really care for, especially after being out late.

Don't read too much into it, but it DOES mean he cares for your well being, which is sweet.

You said you were super exhausted. Maybe he was just concerned you weren't fit to drive. Not everything a man says to a woman is a line with hidden meaning. Sometimes you can just take it at face value.

Could be either. At the very least, interested or not, he's considerate, which is not a bad thing.

It's not a line. He just wanted to make sure you got home safely. You know, like when you give a woman a ride home, and wait to make sure she got in the door safely? It's just the considerate thing to do.

Doesn't anyone take things at face value anymore?

Maybe men the OP's age aren't considerate, and she's not used to her date caring whether she lives or dies after the date, lol. Go figure.

I'm not trying to say it was a line, I was just simply asking if it was a sign of interest. And yes he was a nice caring guy there was no question in my mind about that.
