How would you know if you ever met a religious genius. I've met and know several, and know one particular one quite well. (Verified 140 IQ)

Your premice really makes no sense. The Bible says God is a spirit, meaning He is not detectable with our senses. Just because you claim He is unknowable, doesn't mean He is completely unknowable, it does not mean He is unknowable to all. Some claim to know Him quite well. Maybe He's revealed Himself to them but not to you.

Many things are like this in our world. Lets say that someone discovers bigfoot. Most claim that he doesn't exist. That doesn't mean he doesn't exist. He indeed may exist. Just because most people or all scientists claim something doesn't exist, doesn't mean it doesn't. Its just like those who all knew the earth was flat 500 years ago. Just because everyone "knew" it, doesn't mean its true.

I don't know... when you start talking about IQ points it sounds like score keeping to me. The kinda of stuff that can be detrimental to a relationship.

I've spent it in good company
And all the harm that e'er I've done
Alas it was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit
To memory now I can't recall."

Seems like you worship yourself so you don't need God. Good luck with that.

"Seems" being the operative word. I mentioned my school only to illustrate the fact that high IQ types have interest and can excel in all the various applied arts and sciences that 'ordinary' people put their hands to. As for my Agnostic/Atheist musings, they were in response to the last part of the same post, obviously. I'm not having any worse (or better) luck now that I am an out Agnostic than when I toed the party line in Sunday School. How about yourself? How's Christianity working for you? Hit that Powerball Lotto jackpot yet?

I've got a pretty high IQ, apparently. I'm not sure what it actually is (my mother would never tell me), but I'm told that the psychiatrist who administered the test laughed as he gave my parents the results and told my father "good luck" in a tone that indicated that they were doomed. I was my high school valedictorian (which is actually not a great predictor of success in life) and I graduated from an Ivy League college (where I was not among the cream of the crop).

In any case, I think there are a lot of guys out there who prefer smart women. I would say that I tend to date guys who are equally intelligent, but being very booksmart, I tend to prefer guys who have different kinds of intelligence. I want balance in a relationship, and I think I like the idea of someone who can fill in the gaps in my own skill set, if that makes any sense.

Do what works for you, OP

Christianity is part of my life. It is not something you go out and purchase and then see if it works for you or not. I guess it is everyone choice but my choice is nice to have God to pray to help you and turned to but the bigger part of believing is what happens after you leave this earth. This is going to happen soon or latter for all of us. You believe there is nothing and I believe there is life with God. Life and death is not a Powerball Lotto game. It is your choice. I have chosen and you have too...sounds like you had bad experience in Sunday school sorry about that...

Ditto. Although it is nice to have shared interests, it's also important to have someone who balances you out. For instance, I'm the type who wants to know everything about everything, but no matter how much I learn and read and study, I feel like I only ever scratch the surface... then I get all neurotic about it, and cry because there just aren't enough hours in the day to learn it all. The Mr. kind of pulls me back and helps me put down the books and enjoy life more, as well as develop some more people skills. Like, he'll remind me that it's okay to read 12 different biographies about Genghis Khan... but it's also important to make time to have a cup of tea with Mrs. Khan, the neighbor across the street. Or, to take a break from recreational math, in favor of playing some recreational soccer.
