At what point would you say an age difference in a couple is significant? If the difference is 10 years? 15 years? Or 30 years?

How much of a stigma do you think there is about age differences?

Just to be clear--I'm talking about couples that involve adults, where they're both 21 years old, or older.

I'm curious about this... I'd have thought that in this day and age, people would be rather open-minded about age differences between dating adults. But I'm not so sure anymore. Maybe the stigma still persists?

I think you'll find a diverse number of variables that determine the significance of a dramatic age difference. I've found the most determinant variable to be culture. I've done a lot of traveling. The societies in which men and women aren't pampered, sheltered and entitled you'll notice much higher levels of maturity at younger ages. This therefore allows men and women to make more meaningful, lasting commitments at younger ages.

The proper answer = "Why is this (age difference) anyone's business?"

If it works, it works.

I would not say it at all. There is no objective point where it becomes an issue. What people want from relationships differs so wildly that the relevance of an age difference is solely going to be dependent on them. You can not simply throw a dart at a number line and arbitrarily decide this is where issues start.

As for stigma - I think it has eroded massively and continues to do so.
