Those Filipino women are the same, (well I hear most of them, not all)they come out here in hopes of fooling a guy, but Ive heard that of all the dating sites, they are the most dangerous (romantically) to get involved with. They can charm you with those eyes, their cooking, then 'bam', once they get you where they want you they move on to the next guy and tell both of you the same thing they told the last one that caught onto her game and dumped her. Ask Mike about those Russian dating sites, I think he's come close.

LOL..well, the lady who Im in contact with has not asked for money (yet) or indicated any interest in jumping on a plane to get over here right away.
She's intent with her life over there, her job, and being with family, etc.

But Im still proceeding with caution (I think).
We've talked about what life is like in our respective countries, our favorite movies, music, activities, etc.

Right now, everything seem normal, I just dont want to be a scammers victim!!

I know a few who have met wives on dating sites. The one who hooked up with a Russian lost big. 1 who hooked up with a Thai woman is profoundly happy. 1 who has a chinese wife is happy also.
Dating sites are another version of dating. Both parties trying to sell the other on their values.
Actually I know quite a few people who have done well on the dating sites. My wife is Thai and they seem to find each other no matter where they live. LOL So I go on a lot of trips with my wife to meet her new friends. She is like a big sister to the younger thai women she meets. I have to say its hard to do better than having a traditional Thai wife. LOL but they can be little bossy at times.Just kidding she is reading my post.

I don't want to get off-topic, but since we are on the topic of dating through different country websites....i have to ask about a generalization I have heard about why American men seek to find mates (not dates, but MATES, as in wives) from other countries.

I mean given the expense of travel to meet the other person...and the added risks of fortune hunters, green-card hunters, scams, etc.....do USA guys do this because they want someone who is more passive, less likely to talk back, more dependent on him thus he has more power in the relationship, more traditional in that she is willing to do chores like cooking, cleaning, housework, etc. without expecting him to help so he doesn't have to go there or feel guilty....

I know that was the case with my older brother, when he went shopping for online bride, he particularly wanted an Asian for the reasons named above. He is extremely conservative and hard-line about what "women should do around the house" and American women are too uppity and basically he wants it like his dad had it, a woman for a slave who won't give him any mouth.

What about it guys?

Well, you ask some really good questions, I think. It won't let me rep you yet, though. I have never done on-line dating, but I am happy for those who enjoy it. My fiance is an Italian, but was born and raised here in the US. We live in different towns, and both work different shifts. It can get to be difficult to spend time together, with us both already here. I can't imagine what it would be like if I were here, and she was in Italy. But, sometimes, for some lucky couples, it all works out, regardless of the distance, or motives involved. To those, I say, my hat is off to you!
