Thanks for this, i have a similar impression myself.
Not that there aren't exceptions, as people posting here have mentioned.

This was quite a few years ago. Social attitudes change, and hopefully evolve, but I would expect to find very similar attitudes today.

Your list pretty much sums up most about 99% of the divorced men I know....
Most guys I know with asian wives in fact met them while stationed over seas. No harm no foul. By the way they all seem to be quite happy.
The few guys I know who met wives through a dating sight seem to be happy also.
None treat their wives as property. Guess what even asian women want to be treated with respect. Respect isn't only an american ideal. Its universal.
Most common statements I have heard in regards to marrying an asian woman.
1. Whats the matter American women wern't good enough?
my answer: None of the ones I met.
2. How much do mail order brides cost?
My answer: I wouldn't know, I never shopped for one.
3. This from asian men: Only ugly and undeducated asian women date whites.
My Answer: Well my wife is beautiful, college educated and speaks 5 languages.
4. From americans: These women only want a green card.
My answer: My wife would have prefered it if I moved to Thailand.
5. From both asian men and white women: White men only go after asian women because they can't relate to white women.
My Answer: The only men that truly know how to relate to any women are gay. My wife is my best friend and yet I am still baffled at times.

Wow, what an interesting thread.
I particularly enjoyed your last post, tinman, since I've experienced a lot of the same issues, being the *quite* younger partner in a relationship.
It's particularly amusing to me, since I've had a lot of these comments in the past several weeks. One older woman couldn't believe that I was actually "with him", and just today, my older man was telling me that he had a conversation with someone who said, "gee, I wish that I'll be as lucky to land a younger woman like that when I'm your age".
I won't argue with the fact that he's INCREDIBLY lucky to have me. But, it's the idea that your partner, the person that you want to be with, is something less than, well, your partner. That's what gets to me.
Personally, I don't get "into it" enough to even give the quite good responses you have. It's just not worth it to me. And, hey, even if this weren't a reality in my life, I don't see myself judging anyone for their own choices. *shrug* No one in this world has the "key to love and happiness", so why look down on others for their choices? It just makes YOU look bad.
Sure, there are people on these "international sites" with, erm, less than loving motives. But, as has been demonstrated all around this site, judgments about how and why people met their significant others often just make the person making those judgments look awfully closed-minded (at the very least).
To each their own. And, keep your nose out of business that's not yours. That's the bottom line.

okay like I say before a foriegn woman is good partner for relationship. These kind of woman will treat man well and much better then american woman. It is hard to find american women that do cooking cleaning and do all chores for man. This is why foreign women attract american man. These foregin women are mucher nicer and have better looks because most american women are very fat or have no shape.

Can I be the first to laugh heartily at all of your stereotypes?
But, fact of the matter is that many people derive their own self-esteem from looking down at others. It's really, really sad, yet true. Think that any of your comments fit into that category? Maybe? Possibly????

I don't do those for a man (or my kids),
and I am proud of it!
That way I know he chooses to be with me for my companionship,
for who I am, not for what I do.

lol at the mail order husbands.
As far as I know, mail order brides don't exist. The international dating sites are just that, dating sites, you don't send a check for someone to just up and marry you. Sure, some misguided individuals use these sites for quick marriages and like most quick marriages they don't tend to last.
