Foriegn dating sites. (marriage, women, love, kids)

Anybody have any experience with overseas dating sites??
Im just wondering about this as I went onto a Russian women's site, and was basically just checking it out just out of boredom.
But then a certain profile caught my eye, and I looked into it further.

Well I ended up signing up and put up a profile with a pic (its free to join), and soon I was bombarded with responses.
But I was only interested in one...so I sent a msg. and she replied!!
But then I found all these other forums where everyone is saying that they are scammers and to avoid them.
But others say that not everyone is a *******, and that you can find real people on there.

Now I want to know if theres anyway I can confirm that I am corresponding with a real person instead of a phoney behind a computer just responding to emails all day!!

Any advise??...good, bad, or different...tell me!!

How come all the women on these Russian dating sites look like Maria Sharapova, but any Russian women I have ever met in person looks more like Nina Khrushchev.

I'll echo what Rance said and also add to take it slow. If the woman is trying to scam you it'll show up in the form of her asking for money or trying to push for a relationship.

Just because someone sends you a picture or a cutesie email doesn't always mean that's what you're going to meet.

I have a friend in Arizona who is now married to a Russian woman he "found" online. It is a second marriage for each of them. He has grown kids, and now they are together raising her 12-year-old daughter. They have been married several years now. It is sort of like the days of the "mail order bride" for the men out west or in remote areas. But it is real. Since the men seem to be wondering, she is gorgeous, to my eyes anyway. Both seem very happy with the arrangement and I am fascinated with it.

And there are a lot of scams out there too and women / people who are after money or the affluent USA lifestyle, or USA residence or citizenship. That is one of the main attractions for women seeking USA men. Very few other countries have the high level of comfort USA does and it is appealing. If I was a guy I would worry / wonder, does she love me for me, or for my money and the green card? On the other hand, plenty of women in the USA too go after men for their money, too.

Absolutely tell her you'd like to come visit her. If she balks or stalls it's most likely a scam in the making. And never be fooled by a picture. She might send you one of these:

You'll just have to make a decision and fly over there and meet her personally...or take a chance on sending her money to come here, in which case she either shows up or does not.

I suppose the upside of meeting a golddigger right here in the US is that you won't have to pay for them to get here cuz they already here!!!
