I am completely drawn to men who are my complete political opposite. I am a lefty and fall for right wing conservatives. I enjoy the debates and discussions we have and now, with the 2016 political season upon us, I am curious about other couples.

Are the two of you on the same team or are you a red/blue house divided?

We are both liberal Democrats.

Our opinions and beliefs are not lockstep with one another. They are compatible, though, as are our values.

same team.

The debate may be fun (I sure do) but when it comes to decisions for the family those political views can also translate to potential conflict. Political views are a reflection of individual views and perspectives regarding daily life.

You can always enjoy debates with your friends, coworkers.. etc. . you don't need to go home with any of them.

She and I both lean left. I'm a little more for being fiscally conservative, but we are both decidedly left on social programs. We still have plenty of debates. She's on board with Hillary, I'll probably go Green Party like the last time.

I'm a liberal democrat - hubby is registered independent but has become more liberal since we've been together. We do have some debates and disagree about some things - but we agree on the things that are most important to me.

Absolutely. I wouldn't have initiated contact if we didn't share the same or very similar ideologies. Deal-breaker, full stop. We're both very progressive, he independent and me green party.

We're both liberal.

He likes to follow more political commentary than I do but we try not to discuss it too much at home. He gets terribly worked up about issues and I don't enjoy the hype.

Oddly, I vote twice as often as he does because I rarely miss a local election but he only votes in the larger races.

To make up for it, he donates to candidates he likes all over the country, in places that matter.

Haha - I sound like your partner and my husband sounds like you! I get worked up and follow politics more - he doesn't enjoy talking about it. But I vote more than he does.

I'm a hard-lined liberal and I will never date a super conservative.
