This?

Everyone!!! Listen up!! Grandma put down that turkey wing. This is Pedro, the cabana boy. He treats me horribly but takes me to heights I've never known. He leaves me quivering and my passions spent. He never answers when I call, but shows up at 3am.... I try to tell him "no", but we both know I will succumb to his swarthy good looks and manly scent. I must feel his hand twined in my hair like our bodies...

Can someone pass the salt?

That kind of thing? Happens every holiday.

I'm not Indian. I'm American. Relationships can be tense and it can cause pain and hurt in some families.

Why? We can't help you if you don't explain.

Bottom line: Your families know nothing about your life that you don't tell them. Keep your private life private.

If he/she is " deeply religious" ... How is this in keeping with their religious beliefs?

Well, those families need to let their child/ren live their own lives, and the child/ren should take charge and not let anyone dictate how to live their life.
