You are so right! Nobody getting married today is going to see their 50th! Mostly because we are all going to be abducted by aliens and replaced by aliens who have relations with our spouses!

Well not just that it is because these younger generations especially born from the 1970s to now have become stubborn and selfish

Nope. It's because of aliens.

Same here. He was 25, she was 23. They made it to 48.

They also made it to 48 because my mother was too Catholic to ask for a divorce when she wanted one. Making it to the 50th anniversary doesn't mean a marriage is a good one.

But here, let's have yet another thread by a new member in which the new member starts off by implying how much better it was in the "good old days" and how today's people are just so much more selfish and awful than people were 50 years ago.

Look, the only people who had anything better 50 years ago were white men. For everyone else, it kind of sucked. That's why there was a civil rights movement, and why women liberated themselves. So stop it, already. Really.

Well . A lot to blame also is how kids are raised. These younger generations have parents who failed to teach them to be repectful to others. But all they learned is how the parents spoil them with cars at the age of 16, iPhones, computers and other nonsense.

How old are you? Because unless you are 105, you have no talking room here. Depression-era babies raised some of the most spoiled brats in the history of humanity, and those spoiled brats were born in the 50s, married in the 70s, and divorced in the 80s. So let's not get out the rose-colored glasses. Worry about your own lovelife and marriage. What everyone else does is none of your business and has no effect on you.
