Once in a while Mrs. Chow will get a little lippy with me, so I usually put my hand up and say to her 'You wanna fresh one?"

That usually is enough to get things calm around here.

No. The point I'm making is that many women these days, despite knowing what could happen if they get in a man's face, do it anyway.

Then you can't so much squawk about the double standard, if you contribute to the double standard by sweeping abuse under the rug.

I fail to see what's wrong in admitting you're being abused whether you're a man or woman. That's nothing to be ashamed of. It's not your fault. It's the abuser that has anger issues.

I don't know where these many women are coming from but I never saw that in my former HS. I get the feeling these women are the few who have anger issues but they don't represent the majority of the women population.

It's a macho thing I'm not saying I agree with it but it would be hard for a man to walk into a police station and say ' excuse me my wife/g/f Is beating me up ' without someone laughing at them

I never said that they're the majority. I said that increasingly women these days are behaving in ways that would get a man a swift punch in the head. And increasingly, they're getting just that.

It really doesn't matter.

If you haul off and punch a man in the head, as a man, because he "got in your face," you ought to get arrested, same is if you haul off and punch a woman in the head because she "got in your face."

Who gives a crap if somebody "gets in your face?" That's not a free pass for physical assault.

If someone from that department is going to laugh, they seriously deserve to lose their jobs. Abuse shouldn't ever be a laughing matter.

No, that's not what I'm talking about. I'm saying that a lot of women these days are behaving in ways which would get a man punched, and that many men are indeed punching them as a result.
