Life brought me to the Springs. My ex was in the military, and stationed here. We bought a house, he got out, then early this year our marriage ended...but the kids are still in school here and everything.

I don't choose where to live based on the local politics or kink scene necessarily.

But then, Richmond VA, which was the capital of the Confederacy, gave us GWAR. So you never know what kind of weird underground things are going on in a given town...and actually you never know who is participating in a local kink scene on the downlow, either.

And by the way, I am not a liberal. Nor am I conservative. I'm very independent, and lean libertarian. I want gay stoners with guns to be able to get married. Just not on my lawn, and not with my tax money.

It's sexually active in the sense that sex in DEN is often unplanned and random. People get trashed at local bars and go home with someone only to never speak to them ever again (It's happened to me.)

Denver, in my experience is a really tough city to date in. People aren't judged by career paths or even looks or intentions, it's more of a matter of how outdoorsy you are and where you're from.

EG: Dating conversation in NYC or L.A. - "What do you do for work? A: Well I'm a consultant. Q: Oh cool tell me more about that"

EG: Dating conversation in Denver - ""What do you do for work? A: Well I'm a consultant. Q: (changes subject) Well I don't know what that is, how often do you go camping?"

I roll my eyes at this garbage. And many girls out here have a bad sense or humor, manners, and are terrible conversationalists. It's the type of place where you can go on a few dates, run into the girl at a bar and she'll just ignore you in her little pathetic bubble of white trash loser friends. Completely backwards, IMHO.

One time I went on a date with a girl out here that was convinced that Delta and American were the same airline. I was like uh, no, they're not. And she went on about how they are. I guess people are so self absorbed out here that they believe their own lies?

Hm. I think this is accurate. This is the land of hookups. You've got all these young, energetic and physically fit people looking to expend some energy. I've had more offers for random sex than I've ever had before. I've got my occasional FWB though, so courting STDs and potentially bad sex with a total stranger is not that appealing. Would rather have infrequent but spectacular sex with a guy who is in a medical industry job and well-educated on things like responsible testing and protection.
