You can't be this ignorant. I mean - you just can't. And that's not a personal attack. If you seriously believe that accidental pregnancies are soooo freaking rare - then you are ignorant.

Let's be honest, who is going to admit, even on an anonymous internet forum, that they, themselves, have gotten knocked up or have gotten HIV or HPV? Too much stigma.

I am not saying that they don't happen, I am just saying they are not as common as the anti sex contingent here on Puritan city-data want you to think.

Nobody is anti sex or a Puritan. We just aren't stupid. We don't want to have unplanned babies and STD's.

I'm not trying to put any wisdom out there, but there is data ( a lot of data) to suggest that half of all pregnancies in the US every year are unintended. I'm guessing most of those women didn't use a condom when they had sex. Maybe some did.

When I work in the ER, I see it at least every other shift.

Got to love the " it won't happen to me " mentality.

Currently 49% of the pregnancies in the US each year are UNINTENDED.

Unintended Pregnancy Prevention | Unintended Pregnancy | Reproductive Health | CDC

And 50,000 people in the US are infected with HIV each year. 1.2 million people are living with it, and 12.8% don't even know they have it.

Basic Statistics | Statistics Center | HIV/AIDS | CDC | HIV/AIDS | CDC

You want to argue with the CDC, be my guest.
