So my best friends roommate was dating this guy she met on Tinder for 1 year. She just found out yesterday that he cheated on her in August with a girl he met one night at a bar. It was a one night stand but that girl came across his Tinder account last week and found out through Facebook he has a girlfriend and told his girlfriend about the ONS.

Anyway, he told his girlfriend he cheated on her to avoid becoming too emotionally attached to her.

!!??!?!??!?!?!?

Is this legit or is that worse excuse I've ever heard?

Yup, I'm sure that some people who cheat do so due to feeling scared about being emotionally attached to someone. Add that to the million and one other reasons.

Doesn't make it "legit".

Those aren't mutually exclusive options.

That said, if you're not attached after a year you're never going to be attached, IMO.

I know! It's like, if you don't want to be emotionally attached to someone you probably shouldn't be in a relationship...

Don't get me wrong, some guys (like me) will do anything to avoid attachment, but that is a weak excuse for cheating.

I've heard it, and understood it. But early on, not after a year.

Is there really any good excuse for cheating?

"It felt good?"

"We were playing naked twister and, well you know, I landed on her spot."

Doesn't matter what you think, none of your business.

When will you kids learn that any behavior is NOT limited to a specific gender.
