You mean snooping? Why can't you just ask him about his interests and what not? If he's not willing to provide you with information on himself then move on. No use in wasting time with a closed mouth.
If he can't tell you then why would you waste your time? To me settling for this type of situation seems desperate. Don't settle for ****ty evasive behavior. Life is too short. There are decent people of value out there.
Don't be stupid, why get involved with someone you are already suspicious about? Key word in your post "new" .....stop the detective work and meet someone less evasive....also you just met so why is it your business to know about his private life? Maybe the last person he dated showed up at work and made a big scene...he way be a little wary of someone who wants to know too much, in his opinion.
