Here's how you can "recover" from that faux pas: when/if she asks you about it, just say "Oh, that was you?".

The green kinds are usually pretty good though. That definitely won't work. If anything it will make it worse. Terrible advice.

It's so strange that she believed you, when she knows you are dating 3-4 other women simultaneously. She knows, right?

Again, you have a daughter. How would you want her lover to respond to this situation? Do that.
