That's another term they use. They're proud of being cool. And we're not talking about 21 y/o's, you can take some distance on that, but even about full grown 35 year old women.

sorry i'm venting, i just can't understand the whole posting on social media thing... ABOUT ANYTHING - not just selfies.
This..all of this - exactly the point. And whenever I am telling them this I got called names and "you dont understand" "why you have to be so negative"

That entire post, you quoted, is just a contradiction itself. The person does not seem to understand it.

When you say "they" you mean you and the folks who post over at Worldstar and MediaTakeOut right?

I think it's annoying. Especially when they post them on social media 24/7. Some people need to grow up. The best part is, they're usually taken from a higher angle to hide the double chin lol.

Some people like sharing their lives & it takes too long to call all the people you want to share it with,so a fb post will suffice. For those of us who have family all over the world, social media has its place. Some people do like to get compliments, but why would that bother you? Just ignore it or better yet, use filters or avoid social media altogether.

why not send an e-mail to your family with pictures attached? it only bothers me when people claim they aren't doing it for attention

Social media essentially replaces email in this instance coz you get to share with your family & friends in one go, without having to set up a group email & trying to decide who can or can't see certain pics. It's email made easy. I have certain groups on fb that I will share pics with that I don't want the rest of the world to see.

I agree, some people do it for attention, but I just adjust my settings so I don't see their posts. Lately I've taken to avoiding fb altogether coz it was the same posts over and over, but I don't begrudge those who are happy to keep using it.
