I am interested in what the woman think about dating older men. Granted age is not the only answer but what is your age and how much of an older man would you date, have a relationship with.
Old expression that a woman should be half his age plus 7 years. Him 50, her 32. Him 60, her 37. Him 70, her 42.
I think it should be the opposite but I'm female. When I was 32, I wouldn't even think of dating somebody 50, same with 42 and dating a 70. Who made up these old expression any way, is this to be a nurse or what?
I've heard of this formula being used to determine the youngest age of a woman a man could date. Not, as the OP states, what her age should be.

No, a man SHOULD not date a younger woman. He also shouldn't date an older woman. He should date the woman he falls in love with, doesn'tt matter if that's a younger or an older one.
I'm 27, female and I can tell you I would NOT date a man who's almost 50. I don't have a daddy complex. I'd say he shouldn't be older than mid thirties. My SO is 31, and all of the men I've ever dated were around my age (plus minus a few years). There are women out there though who like older men, most of them mainly because of the money-security-thing. There are also men who like older women. Each to his own.
Luckily my husband has never heard of your formula because apparently I should be ten years younger. I'm 38 and if I weren't married I think the oldest I would be willing to go is maybe 50. By your calculations I should be dating men in their sixties which ain't going to happen. There are some nice looking older men out there but I'm just not attracted to men close to my father's age.
Most people I know generally stay within five years of their age. I don't know any women in their thirties that would date a man in his sixties unless he was super rich.
Was 8 years with a guy 25 years older. Am currently in a LTR with a guy who is 19 years my senior.
Fortunately, I've learned to laugh heartily at the idiotic stereotypes about these sorts of relationships (especially when they are couched in "many" or "most" phraseology).
I'm 26. Definitely into older guys.. 32-34. Anything older would be uninterested.
