I would stay but I need to be downstairs with the tv on to mask the sound--hearing people throw up causes me to barf too. It's also a strange phobia of mine--being caught in a room with someone violently puking. It sounds gross, smells gross, and looks gross.
I can get the 7up, and some medicine, and be kind, but in the midst of the puking I need to not be nearby.
Surely this is a trick question coz there is only one correct answer! In case it's unclear OP, no, you do not get to jump ship just because your partner is unwell!
I offer to stay and help, but if I'm the ill one in that situation:
1) I prefer that they not see me in such a condition
2) While I'd appreciate the effort, I don't need any assistance and don't want to put the burden on them to take care of me. In a different situation (say, I'm laid up from surgery or something), it's a different story. But vomiting, I can handle.
So, I'd offer to stay, and if they needed me to, I would. But if I were the sick one and they offered to stay, I'd send them home. Don't see me like this, go home, sleep, and I'll be better tomorrow
They became violently ill from dinner they just ate. Constantly throwing up. Would you still stay the night or go home?
Well of course you stay the night!!
Look after them as I'm sure she would have stayed and looked after you mate if you were ill
