No ambition? Well, a person working any kind of job has ambition, because, after all, they are working for a paycheck.
It really depends on what age. An 18 year old who is working to pay for an education, or just starting out working their way up the ladder? Sure. I can answer no that I would not date this person because I am too old. Have been there and done that. And it would be dumb. They would not date me either.
That said, there is an age where if you have not moved beyond minimum wage as a regular means of earning, it does reflect on your ambition.

I think it's unfair to categorize people working low-wage jobs as lacking ambition or being deficient or inferior, which is what you seem to suggest. Very elitist.
Certainly not MORALLY inferior. But depending on ones place in life, it can have a lot to say.

So if Im content in my current job but make twice more than the minimum wage and don't want to move up, does that make me unambitious?
As a long term deal, I would be less inclined to pursue a relationship. If we're talking lower-middle middle class earnings, totally fine with that. I'll likely pursue sub and adjunct work once I finish grad school. Adjuncts don't get paid ****. They are often at or below federal poverty line and have to supplement their income in other ways.
I say, as long as your earnings work for you, your lifestyle and your goals.

Um. Yes? Definition:
"a strong desire to do or to achieve something, typically requiring determination and hard work."
Know thyself. If this is what you want, I will be happy for your contentment with someone else. But you would not make a sensible partner for me. Or one that I would have a lot in common with.
It would be very interesting to see some of you high earners get knocked off your high horse and lose your precious jobs and be forced to take minimum wage and see how the other half lives.
Some of you have egos as tall as the Eiffel Tower and seriously lack empathy.
Just remember, nothing is secure. Job security is an illusion. You can lose it at any time.
Not sure where this tude is coming from, I didn't get the sense that people were bragging. You don't have a clue what you're talking about, you don't know people's histories and backgrounds you don't know a thing about it, yet here you are making all kinds of assumptions about people.
So not true. Just because you go show up at work and sit around for 8 hours doesn't mean you have ambition.
If somebody is over 30 and STILL working minimum wage, the took the wrong turns on all the cross roads he ever stood at and I am pretty sure there were many.
I partied throughout my 20s, took lots of wrong turns and missed opportunities and still reached a certain income/career level.
Then I moved to a different country and started at the bottom and passed the minimum wage level after a year.
Then I moved to a different state and started from scratch AGAIN.
I have a coworker who earns VERY GOOD money and he came from an area with a really high unemployment rate. His highschool buddies still live there and complain about the unfair world. He sat in his car after one year of being unemployed and out of school and drove around and didn't stop until he found a job. His buddies think he had luck - no he didn't - he put in EFFORT.
What does your personal experience have to do with the topic at hand? Your experiences and beliefs are relevant to you, but that's where the relevance ends.
Working a job shows ambition, at least as defined by a large segment of the modern world. Adhering to a job schedule, performing the work required, and maintaining that employment long-term would probably be considered 'ambitious'

What if you're in, say, fast food, and you don't want a carfeer in fast food but you don't have other job skills and you can't afford to go back to school?
