Agree with everyone who says not to date co-workers. Not a good idea at all, under any circumstances. It can cause a lot of problems, as everyone has said.
Update: she said she would definitely be interested in having lunch sometime! She mentioned usually eating lunch at her desk and typically multitasking by working while eating because of her current large workload, but she said she would be sure to let me know as soon as she has some time free in the near future so that we can get together for lunch

The overall idea was to try to go to the cafeteria for lunch at work (i.e., not at her desk). If she is not interested or was simply just trying to find a nice way to decline the invitation, then that is totally fine and I have absolutely no issue with it, and if so, will be sure not to bring it up again; will be sure to leave her alone without any further incident, etc. Again that's cool and no problem at all.
This is EXACTLY why I don't date women I work with. And, note it goes both ways. Women at work hit on me sometimes, and though I guess I'm flattered by the attention, I don't encourage this. Some of these women have actually asked me out at times, and having to turn them down & then having to see them every day is somewhat awkward.
I'm a horndog, but at the same time don't $##% where I eat....

Very funny, however also very true in some cases. Though obviously this video is an extreme exaggeration, I HAVE heard of cases where women have complained to HR when guys have asked them out on dates, and in some cases these guys have lost their jobs. Not worth it.
Note: Though the quality was bad, that does look like an SNL?! skit - I recognized Amy Poehler in a couple of scenes...

Yeah that's SNL from like 10 or so years ago. Tom Brady portrays the "attractive" guy in the video.
