Isn't age just a number?

When everything is taken in to consideration, My only "legitimate" preference is someone around the same age as I am.

That said, I never really think about age when it comes to what attracts me. That's not something I have any direct control over.

Technically, 'age' is a word.

@anyrate, I'm a simple man, and have a simple dating formula: If im attracted= age irrelevant.

Life's too short for age appropriate dating, IMO. Just enjoy and cherish the little time you have to live with someone who makes you happy.

I'm 29.
Ceteris paribus (not that it's a reasonable case when it comes to age), I'd ideally like to meet a woman around 23 or 24. Just enough to have had a few years experience as an adult, but not enough to get frigid and mad at the world.

OP, here you go, does this answer your question?:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_di..._relationships

Don't worry so much about hypotheticals. The vast majority of people will end up with someone their own age or a few years older (if you're a woman). Just focus on finding the best possible match for yourself.

I'm 26 and would say I prefer women who are like 20-24, if you just asked me that quesiton. However, my last three girlfriends have been 2-3 years older than me. So the individuals matter more than some abstract ideal.

Reasons I'm wondering: I've talked about the same with my female friends before and most seem
To prefer men with the same age as them, plus max. 4-5 years. On top of that, I just turned 28 and I start feeling so old. I mean, I still look really great, no wrinkles, skinny and i shape etc, I just feel like this damn 28 sounds so old and most men I'd like to date (age 28-33) would maybe prefer someone who's 20-25. I don't want to date men though who are older than mid thirties tops.

Thanks!
At the age where they still are able to have healthy offspring.

Oddly, usually the exact age of the woman they're interested in at the moment.

Indy, I think I've seen this study before. It's funny because most men I know tell me that girls 20-22 still look like teens (too young). And I actually agree- I look better now than I did 20-22. When I was that age I still looked like a teen, even had some babyfat on my cheeks (without being overweight). I also wasn't confident about my style at all. Lookswise I'd say I'm at my prime since I'm 25. But I guess some guys just have a weird fetish with extremly young girls 😀

My lifetime history for ex-wives, fiancees, and girlfriends as been 0 to 8 years younger. I don't recall ever being in any kind of relationship with anyone older.

I certainly can admire a 25-year-old at her peak of good looks and fertility but that's unobtainable.

I'm 57. My focus is on lining up my ducks so I can retire comfortably. I doubt many women under the age of 50 could easily relate to that focus.
