If you're afraid of looking needy, then don't whine and don't ask it. Phrase it in a way that states what YOU feel and what YOU want, with the understanding that she may feel differently.

Why would what it "looks like" be of any concern to a couple that is at that stage of a relationship? Surely if you are contemplating that level of commitment, you've gone beyond such insecurities and game-playing?
