The folly of his statement was that it was strangely one dimensional and most men as they get older realize that the age range of what they find acceptable in a woman typical slides around as they get older. Most mature men past 35 or so realize that them only being with women 18 to 21 isn't practical or even desirable by all men, some maybe, but not all.
That's the folly, the guy making asinine statements that men want 18-21 yr old women. Not all guys do.
Few women that age want a guy that much older. Women who do have something wrong with them in the head.
I had a FWB situation with a former coworker back in SF who was in her 40's who was dead sexy and had more gusto than most of the women in their 20s I've been with. Sweet lord...
I don't think theres an age or expiration date on sexuality, personally.
For sure, he's completely delusional. Not too many 18-year-old girls are into middle age men; with few exceptions, there are often "daddy issues" involved, and/or the relationship is less than reciprocal.

Well, I think this is a generalization, for both women and men. Everyone ages differently and 25 -30 is certainly not a looks stopping point for all. And rating others physically by numbers? ... It can occur to experience those being a "10" on the outside who otherwise have nothing to offer, not that everyone who is good looking is bad news. Likewise, not everyone who may be "ordinary" is without charm, sex appeal, valuable traits. That is why there are all types of couples out there - look around you.
It is unrealistic to think that one is not sexual beyond a certain age, since people vary, so if men are not looking in the right direction, they are just missing out.
There has become far too much of an obsession with youthfulness and perfection in relation to female sexuality. It would be good if there was as much of an obsession with others' inner qualities as there are with outer ones and if people would focus upon developing themselves on the inside, there would be fewer hangups and problems relating to sex and everything else.

I think you're reading a bit too much into that comment - no one is suggesting that men or women immediately become invisible past a certain age (whatever the consensus on that age might be). However, a good amount of data from dating websites does indicate that men of all ages find women in their early 20s the most physically attractive. Women on the other hand seek tall men (4-8 inches taller than themselves) and white men in online dating at least.
There are people whose true beauty does not come through until
1. trauma
2. age
3. parenthood
4. life experience
In short, 18-25 might be the Ideal Breeding Age. But as for physical Appearance - NO WAY!!!!
That ripe look youth has is actually Unattractive to older people, by and large. Like a red delicious - looks like it should taste good - floury and unsubstantial if you are dumb enough to take a bite.
Agreed. I personally find men that are 26-30 most physically attractive. There are exceptions though (namely, Ryan Gosling). They look young, but still like men.
