LMAO! I'm in Arlington, have an empty Match account, I'm 49, and for some odd reason, when I run a search, it comes up with thousands. It doesn't get below 100 until I REALLY narrow my field by religion, politics, education, kid status, body, height, and race AND narrowed it down to within TEN miles, not 25. My age parameters are 44-54, to boot.
What, are you sorting for all of that AND incomes over $100K+ or something?

I will say that most of them are white. A woman of color seeking a man of color probably would do better on OurTime, especially if she's black. I have a blank profile on that, too, and most of the profiles I see on there in the D.C. area are black. It wouldn't let me run my own parameters, however, maybe because I'm not a paying member.
Unfortunately, no matter how benign and "serious" a website claims to be...you STILL have to wade through and weed out people who are just after something casual...for a more polite word. No website is able to read a person's mind or see what they're actual intentions are.

I am also in the DC are (Fairfax, VA) and wonder what you are doing offline to meet people?
I would not want to date online in DC since it is tedious enough to cut through the pretentious B.S. in person.
Meetup.com is pretty good to go to . You can find different groups and activities with people that are 30/40 in your area. they have things from dinner groups, brunch groups, hiking groups and networking groups for people in that age group.

If you're a woman and can't do any good on OLD you're definitely doing something wrong. It doesn't matter what site you use, It favors women heavily. So just pick one and go at it. I'm a guy and almost 40 and get no responses at all from anyone that resembles a normal human being, it does not matter what age range I message. I did a 3 month and I am going to try and get my money back when it expires. Complete waste of money and I even paid for the extra things like women can reply for free and so on. What a joke!
