For Americans, I'm guessing, a concern might be that he might be using her to gain citizenship.
Just for the record when I was doing this poll I was making the assumption that its a foreigner who already has permanent resident status, i.e. a green card holder.
Not somebody who lives way away in a foreign country, that would be too difficult. I'm talking about foreigners within the US.

I could've it put it in and I knew somebody was going to mention a preference for foreigners but my poll was getting too big and I don't think I was able to include every possible scenario.
Well, as an American I'm not above using "spelt" and actually prefer that, but others are quick to tell me that's not even a word and will veer me to the "correct" word.
American here too and I've always used "grey" instead of "gray." When questioned about it, I just shrug and say "I like it better."
I'm not opposed to dating a non-American. The last guy I went out with is from a small country in West Africa. The one prior to that, I thought was Hispanic, but he's actually Native American. (He "looked" Hispanic and lives in an area of town that is predominantly Hispanic, so it was an honest mistake). Depending on who is real father actually was, LH may or may not have been half Hispanic.
In fact, I'd likely do a lot better if I tried only dating non-Americans as they tend to find me attractive (especially men from India and European-born) whereas American men simply don't or rather, rarely do.
