I would imagine Jesus had something to do with it.
moral standards and family values, they have shaped what has become social standards people live by.

Coming from a different place what I have noticed over the years is that Most people are fine talking or expressing sexuality indivually, but when it comes to addressing en masse it it turns in to rhetoric and safety speech.

This is 'murica. Sex is for procreative purposes only. Shirts on, lights off, no talking, and pretend not to enjoy it too much.

Many cultures' spiritual traditions shape or factor into their respective cultures' sexual norms. It's not exclusively a Jesus thing.
