Could be dating, could be marriage, could be anywhere I guess...
For the men, did her awesome cooking leave you powerless? Oh man, I can't leave her, her lasagna is to die for. Obviously, I'm exaggerating, but you get the point. Her cooking made an impact.
For the women, did your cooking make any difference? Did it woo him? Or did he not notice, no appreciation or gratitude.
Guess I'll go first. When I was younger, it was neat and I could appreciate it. Now that I'm older, I'm not as much of a fan. It's hard to stay fit with some styles of home cooking (comfort food more often than not). I suppose if she's a health nut and cooks healthy, maybe.
(this thread is just to take a look at the common expression that we hear once in awhile - I'm not upset with anybody's cooking and no greater meaning behind it all - just one of those expressions)
I find the expression .more humorous than anything.I do most of the cooking. Lol But, that's not what holds her heart. She's a fine cook as well, but my heart isn't held by that. Maybe there was some truth to this 100 years ago. Maybe even in the 1950s er. Nowadays, it can be used as a humorous. compliment, but is anachronistic, otherwise.
Better be real good honey- or I am leaving...and those egg you cooked this morning- the yokes were a tad to hard....oh....the coffee...little on the bitter side..
I don't think cooking will get you a man, but it makes the one you have a lot happier.
Agreed! I was a terrible cook when I met my husband - although he had no idea since we were on tour that year and living in hotels. When he did finally get a taste of my cooking - he decide to do a lot of the cooking! Haha! I gradually improved and am now a pretty darn good cook, if I do say so myself! But it certainly wasn't why he fell in love with me! My cooking does keep him happy now, though.

Now he grills on a kamado and the food is exquisite.
Now that I've improved my cooking skills, he mostly just grills - which he is far better at than I am!

Why is it that so many dudes balk at cooking in the kitchen with pots and pans, but grilling is something that they will go totally OCD about? Is it just the the primal fire thing?

LOL. My partner is very laid back, until I threaten to start up the grill.
No but the wine helped. I had a really nice rack of wines, Mostly the reserve kind that I bough and I saved for special occasions, my husband came down every day and finished them off. He said surprisingly they were quite good.

My husband doesn't drink wine. But I did have a really nice rack.
I only lit a grill one time. It wasn't pretty. Who would have that you're not to supposed to turn on the gas, put the lid down for a few minutes, and then hit the ignite switch?
