I'm Asian and the boyfriend is Hispanic. I suppose you can say we're in an "interracial" relationship but it doesn't quite feel like that. The only time I feel a divide is when we are talking about the cultural divide...which is not always a bad thing as we are learning from each other all the time. Besides....you know what they say about hispanic men I'm not complaining!

Yes it's a free country. You are have the right to date interracially, just like people have the right to disapprove so as long as it doesn't infringe upon your rights.

I think for those who were born in Generation X (hello! ) or Y(Millennials), interracial dating is likely to be most popular as they may be more used to interacting with various ethnic groups. It may not be quite as prevalent among Baby Boomers, but then again some people start to discover later in life that life is short and if you're happy, the heck with anyone else who doesn't like it.

I'm sure it is increasing. People don't have their heads up their asses as much.
I think it is great, who really cares about "saving ones heritage"?

I get nervous when I hear phrases like "preservation of one's heritage" when coupled with disapproval for interracial relationships...because it sounds more like garden-variety racism and bigotry. Please correct me or expand on your views if I have mis-read the post. Thank you.

You might be right about that, however, they seem to have them up other peoples asses more than ever.
