Do most women get to travel the world. I thought that was a thing for the wealthy, entitled?
When do they find the time and money?
I've prioritized it, just like people find the time and money to do/own anything else they like. T
OP, have you tried therapy or hynosis? Or are you okay with this limitation in your life? It sounds like you are already putting down women who travel internationally. Hopefully thats just your phobia talking.
Xanax prevents panic attacks and other physical symptoms, but it doesn't eliminate psychological fears. Also, Xanax is addictive with long-term use.
But you only have to take it before doing something that could bring on the panic attack...so not all the time.
Anyway, - nope - has to be able to fly. Has nothing to do with going "overseas". I'm not gonna take a week to go across the country by car or train. And who's going to drive to Riviera Maya or South America?
It could be very inconvenient for me. I travel by air for leisure 6-10 times a year.
However, I have a friend whose husband is like this. She is very understanding. However, at least once a year he sucks it up so they can travel farther than 300 miles away from home.
Would you be willing to take your Xanax and do that?
It is also funny to me that you think taking a single dose of Xanax once in awhile in a situation like this could make you addicted. Do you currently demonstrate addictive behaviour and that is why you want to avoid such substances completely?
It's never come up thus far. I don't travel a lot, but often enough that a BF who didn't fly would be inconvenient. I'm not driving to visit people in the PNW.
Though my own travel interests at the moment don't really include having to board a plane, I'm not particularly interested in being with someone who would not fly.
No, travel is fairly cheap nowadays. Its just about priorities. The majority of people I know do at least one international trip a year, or at least a significant domestic trip.
It's been 1.5 years for me which is too long, but I had some other projects which have been taking my discretionary resources.
This is definitely something I get screened on the "no" side with on dating since I don't travel as robustly as a lot of the people I meet, and won't have the time/resources to do so frequently for a couple of years (again, due to other prioritized choices). But lots of people start a 3-4 weeks vacation, then quickly move up... and then a good chunk of people (though obviously not near a majority) travel overseas for work and then extend the trip to tour.
Well I feel I must be living on a different plant. Starting a job with 3-4 weeks paid vacation. I've been at my job 20 years and am barely able to take a week.
I guess this whole recession thing, depressed wages, unemployment, etc. has been a hoax.
