I am curious though about the other "missed opportunity" type scenarios. Has anyone ever pursued a passer-by?

I had situations like yours. After the smile, I turned around because I "forgot" something. Or I stopped, looking at my phone so he can pass by me and talk to me. It never happened.

If you're there the same time in the same place on the same day this weekend perhaps he will make a point of being there too. You never know.

Not a good idea. If someone tells him about that and there's a good chance that someone would, you'd be finished.

Aside from the obvious "same place/same time" advice...I'm not sure.

I've literally NEVER approached a guy & I don't think I'd be good at it.

I have this knack for looking like an idiot if I even try to throw some non-verbal cues someone's way.

Like if I try flipping my hair, biting my lip & smiling I WILL walk into a pole...(yes; thats happened. More than once)!

Oh gosh; I would just die!

I know a couple that have been married for 15 years...they met when he was on stage as an actor at a dinner theatre. She was a waitress there & he literally fell off of the stage & landed on top of her !
