Never understood the purpose of it since you barley know each other and now you inviting this person to see all your personal business like relatives and place of employment? I find it kind of odd since there is no guarantee you will continue seeing each other after 2 or 3 dates so why connect on Facebook?

Agree. It's no biggie, you can just delete them later if needed.

LOL what a question. Lots of people add complete strangers. So it's not "odd" at all. Stupid? Yes. Narcissistic? Perhaps.

People add strangers? Wow and here I thought FB was for connecting with family and old friends.

Clearly you lived in a cave, or barn, or keep your head in the sand. In any event, you sure have not spent any time here on CD listening to people post stupid threads about why someone did something on FB....

Obviously FB is for whatever people want to use it for. Personally, I use it strictly for family and friends, and I keep my settings private. But that's just me. LOTS of people have completely public profiles, and add anyone that sends a friend request.

Only add friends that you came in contact with. Not crazy net people or dating site people. YOU DON'T KNOW THEM THAT WELL.

A lot of people add strangers. I get a lot of friend requests from people I've never met.FB can be used for anything. It's not a big deal and like others have said, you can always delete the person if things don't work out.

Personally, i have very little to do with FB & would scrap it, but it's a good way of keeping in touch with family and friends.

Right and the person from the dating site will have your government name and it may not even work out
