so have run into this girl a few times in the elevator... it's not consistent, it could take a few weeks before I see her again. We've talked a bit, i've complimented her but just not got her # or asked her if she is interested in going out sometime. However, I know her name, she has a really unique name and I immediately found her on Facebook. She appears single. So my question is:
a. Should I just wait till I meet her again to ask her out
OR
b. Is it OK to send her a message on FB (which make seem a bit stalkerish? I don't know?) If I send her a message on FB perhaps I can just say that I looked her up since I did not know how else to get in touch? Or is it a bad idea?

When do you expect you'll see her again? How often do you run into her?
If it will be relatively soon, maybe try in person first. If not, send her a message on Facebook. If she really likes you, she will have no problem with you sending her messages on Facebook.

However, when checking her profile again today (after seeing her in the elevator again) I read a comment on the pic by someone and she had replied that it was her brother. so all this time I just did not approach with the wrong assumption that it was her husband/boyfriend in the picture
Now, I get it that we do love in an internet/social media network culture, but still, a real man would ask a girl out in person that he sees from time to time, not via Facebook stalking.

@LondonCowboy... I think my compliments went down very well, just subtle compliments on her style/look etc. without being too forward. I would say definitely receptive but there is only one way to find out if she wants to go out and that is to ask her direct LOL!
