Do you guys believe that there should be a certain time when kids should start dating?
I ask this mostly for the parents here and what some people believe when kids should start dating.
Thru age 6-18 or in Elementary, Middle, and High School, was there an appropriate time you started letting your kids see someone or do you believe kids should wait a certain amount of time maybe until in high school to start having a boyfriend/girlfriend?
What do you guys think?
Like for a middle school kid to be dating at 10 years old or starting instead at 16?

I speak for both the young boys and girls.

It all depends on the individual kids. There are only individual timelines for each kid. Kids mature at wildly differing ages. There's no 1-size-fits-all.

I would also add that dating and having a relationship don't necessarily go together; they're not the same thing. Younger kids do date without getting into a relationship. It all depends on the individual kids. Heck, I've known college students who dated without having a relationship. People's hormones kick in at different ages.

When they are old enough to make their own choices sounds pleasant

But I started early and most I know did..... But I'd say 16 ( the legal age of consent here ) is an acceptable time...

"When they are ready".

They will do it regardless of your involvement, so it's better to be accepting of their feelings towards it instead of being militant towards a set "made up" standard.

When they are old enough to want to date is when it is ok. I didn't start dating until I was 23.
