I'm avoiding dating or expressing interests in women who are Hillary supports and I noticed a FWB drift away after she found out I went to a Tump rally. Then I had two other ice breakers dates where political compatibility topic came up right away ("If you support Hillary it's going to be a problem" she said).

Is this happening to you too?

Yup. Which is why I make sure very early on that a potential partner has similar political views to my own, and I don't discuss politics with friends and acquaintances. IME, nothing good ever comes from it.

Dating a Trump supporter would make me want to vomit.

While I am in no way dating or looking I can say this is something that affects everyday life anymore.

Everyone seems to care a little too much about what they feel is right and what others think.
It's an insanely odd thing to me, it's not natural to care that much about "what side" you are on where I came from.

You just believe what you feel is right and move on with life

What a great idea, lets surround ourselves with only people who agree with us.

A little echo chamber.

Fantastic, that will be a great aid to society when absolutely nobody knows how to debate any more.

Nope, I have zero tolerance for those who believe politics is the most important aspect of who I am.

There are certain things I'm not interested in "debating" with someone I choose to be intimate with.

So long as you don't debate while you are getting intimate, it's ok.

I find political discussions while I'm boinking to be a little distracting.

Trump vs Clinton to me is not just politics - it's about ideals and values. I could never date a Trump supporter, and thankfully, out here on the West Coast, I don't run into many of them in my dating age bracket. As in, none.
