It happened to me on my very first online date! Only I was left sitting at a bar by myself. Then the guy had the nerve to write me again a year or so later. When I called him on standing me up, he said "I thought when I didn't confirm that day, you'd know I wasn't coming"
I know I dodged a bullet, however at that time I was really feeling sad about not having someone, so it was quite disillusioning and hurtful then.
This is cruel! What on earth? This makes me mad on your behalf.
Any woman who expects the guy to do all the work in dating and can't even be bothered to meet him halfway is showing that she is an entitled pain-in-the-butt. Women like this have zero self-awareness and will always sit around wondering why they can't meet decent guys.

Maybe.
That's a lot to decide based on one comment about driving.
Thanks! Not just the disregard for my feelings, but I also find it terribly cowardly for a man to be afraid to do the right thing and just cancel.
Therefore it is best to ask the day before or the same day, in case you do not hear from him
"Hey, stranger, are we still on for today?" Then you know. If no reply, then it is off.
Also, better not to meet and probably wait in a bar!

Isn't it the opposite? You make a date and if nobody says "Oh, hey, can't make it" then the date is on?
Do you call the movie theater 10 minutes in advance of the movie to make sure it's still on? Sure, they SAID online it would be playing at 8:15 but after that, there was no "confirmation"...so unless they confirm you have to assume maybe it just isn't happening after all, is that right?
Very simple method to making/breaking dates or appointments: Make an appointment? Keep it. Can't keep the appointment? Call.
This is really SO simple, folks. I don't think it's rocket science.

But....just to be on the safe side, does not harm. Especially if the date was agreed upon many days before. Somebody could forget, the date, or to cancel.
Even doctors do this: The receptionist calls a day before to remind you of your appointment.
".....my love...?."
LC, you often add this to your replies.
How many "loves" do you have on this forum?
J/K.....:-D)))
It's an English thing.... When talking to a bloke it's mate and a bird it's love
I would answer your question but I'm not one for long posts LOL
