I guess I just feel I will fail and end up with lots of debt I have never done well in school and hate studying and the work in general.

Why do you have to go to college to get a better career?
What about sales jobs, or customer service jobs in office setting. College degrees are not required for those, and some are entry level.
Or what about waitressing at a high end restaurant, or bartending ?

You are setting for a low end, easy retail job. At some point, the light bulb has to turn on. If you want to keep the kind of guys around thT you are capable of attracting, then you need to raise the bar on your own life.
Or, stop dating guys that don't do retail and are cool with you working at walmart. Maybe you can date someone you work with. Problem solved!

Do you hate WORK in general? Or just school work in general?

What do you want to do with your life career wise? What do you want to be?

Apprenticeships are usually free as you are learning on the job. You could ask for night hours at Walmart and do your apprenticeship during the day. It will be hard, but if you're determined you will get through.

I'm getting the impression you're content to stay where you are. If that's the case, make peace with it and find someone who is also content with this. Not everyone is ambitious and to some, as long as the bills are paid, they are happy.

That's true, but it might also be part of the OP's problem. Are you happy where you are? Is that where you want to be in 5, 10 years? That's what potential dates might be seeing.

When my nephews were in high school, my sister sat them down and told them that they didn't have to go to college, but they had to have a plan for their future. There's no shame in working food service or retail, but it's also not a path with a lot of options for growth.

Why can't you just go to community college for a couple years and IF you do well, you can get some transfer into and get some financial aid at a 4 year university? Community colleges are pretty affordable and if you don't do well, you won't be saddled with a lot of debt.

If you really don't like college, vocational school would be good too. I also like the higher paid service gig arena mentioned in terms of being a waitress at a nicer restaurant or bartender.

I agree with thinking about a trade/vocational school if you are interested in other careers. If you are happy with what you're doing and a future of continuing to do what you're doing, that's fine, too. What kind of guys are you meeting? Maybe your perfect match isn't the same type of guy you keep dating. Think about what you personally want from life, and go after it. That's what motivation and drive are all about. It doesn't have to include college.

Okay you are not good at school. What are you good at?

Also, what made you bad at school? We're you bored? Did you not like reading? Writing? Math? The people? Hard to stay organized? Were lessons confusing? Were there classes you did like? The more we know the more we can throw around ideas.

That's what I'd be interested in knowing.

I've went out with girls that have had much lower paying jobs than walmart and they were part time also. They were a little bit younger than the OP, but it still isn't a big deal to me.
