He knows it is perceived as creepy because he is in the demographic, and his friends may even be telling him it is creepy. Her friends may tell her it's cool and exotic that she's dating an older man. Her parents may not be too happy.

Advice: Wait until the girl graduates high school.

The fact that she's still in HS is irrelevant. At 17, she's at the same maturity level as you, so go for it! I knew a guy who. at 17, was targeting 14-year-olds to try to get them into sexual relationships. That was creepy. But 19 and 17 isn't, and it sounds like you really like her.

1. I don't think/know if its perceived as creepy, and my friends haven't said there's anything creepy about it

2. I knew her before in HS when I was a senior and she was a junior, we were close then as well but got closer over the summer.

To those who do not think this is creepy:

Are you either:

- 17-19 years old

- A parent of 17-19 year old

My opinion is the majority of people in these demographics would find this creepy, myself and my teenage kids included.

I understand but believe many will still find it creepy, quite likely her parents. I know it is hard for people to imagine a minor age difference would be received this way, but it is regarding the stage of life you are each in and the levels of power/independence. Just waiting until she graduates to make a move will resolve this.

What if it was an 18 year old college freshman dating a 17 hs senior, would you find it creepy then?

I cannot believe I'm one of the few people here putting up the red flag on this.

Do any of you have teenaged girls?

Well they're both teens in this scenario.
