Rather be thrown over for filet mignon than a ham sammich.

Doesn't really matter.

The result is the same.

I would think it is the reverse. If he left for someone young and pretty, you know the reason. If he left for someone who you think is a worse choice than you, then wouldn't that cause self doubt?

I always assumed that if a man left a woman for a better looking women than the answer was clear; the men I never understood were the ones who had affairs with women that were not as attractive.

I say affairs because, if he just cheated that would be once, maybe twice, but to enter into a long-term sexual relationship with a woman that was less attractive than his wife, I can't understand.

Your poll doesn't include the best answer--it wouldn't matter the age or the beauty of the other person. Betrayal in a marriage is devastating no matter who the other person is or what they look like.

Perhaps she's a superior lover? Maybe she's a better person, maybe she's willing to explore where the other, more attractive partner just lies there during their interludes? There are so many possible reasons. Look at Schwarzenegger's housekeeper - not exactly obvious what EVER attracted him to her.

Definitely worse to be left for someone worse looking....it implies that there was a DEEPER reason for the infidelity than looks...that you got dumped over something else that was lacking in terms of personality - something about YOU as a person and not just something shallow. In some people's eyes it may even make people think less badly of HIM - he's cheating over something other than what is typical so he must have good reason, if that makes sense.

Nope. Someone will always be younger, prettier, whatever.

His actions are a reflection on him, not me. The most gorgeous women on Earth get dumped/cheated on, appearance is immaterial.

Shallow ridiculous threads in this forum are so awesome yo.
