I suppose there are women who prefer the finer things (aka more expensive) in life but I'm not one of them, and I don't want to hang out with a guy who does either. Impress me with your wit and kindness, not your money.

I bet those who are saying "it don't matter" would flip the table if the guy took you to dinner and then used a coupon. Would money still not matter then?

It's never happened before but I don't think I would care. If he has a coupon, so what?

Like a groupon? I used it several times for dates, and had several dates use groupon at some rather nice restaurants.
When I was single, I never wanted a guy too spend too much on a date. It just wasn't necessary. Once in awhile I'd go out with someone who was affluent. If he invited me to eat someplace fancy or see a show, I'd certainly enjoy it and find it interesting. Still, casual dating and trying to have fun was always my cup of tea.

Lost your bet
It really doesn't mean anything. It's not what I remember about him, anyway.

You'd be one hundred percent wrong. Wrong, wrong and wrong again. It's for sure happened and I have always admired frugality in this way. And I do it too.
Next objection/preconceived notion?
Maybe it's just the women you're picking, Dissenter.
