Yeah if you have low standards. Most women around 35+ that are single w/ no kids and in decent shape are professional women that have a super long checklist of things they expect... and on top of that they have ton of options due to the high volume of men chasing them.

What high volume of men chasing them? Show me some men, I don't see any men doing any chasing of 35+ single, child-free, slim women. You'd be surprised; many of those women don't have much in the way of checklists, and are open to basic, decent guys--even marginally-employed guys, if they're good guys.

lol It's part sunbelt, part rainbelt; women in Seattle and the Bay Area. These are women who rarely, if ever, get hit on, so when they do, they give whoever it is a good chance. You might call it "settling", but at least one of the women doesn't see it that way. And before someone says, "Why don't they ever approach guys", I'll say that a couple of them try chatting guys up now and then but they get no reaction. These are women who would be the subjects of the "invisible women" thread that got locked.

Recently single so back on OKCupid... I know online dating is bad for men but I recall I had much better luck last time I was on the site (in my late 30s)... i'm 42 and have not had much luck in 6 mos. Been on 1 date and sent around 100 messages, got around 5 responses!!! Although I am getting a lot of profile likes nobody responds.
In contrast in my 30s, I had several dates and had 3 serious relationships in the last decade of online dating.
My physical appearance is infact better now, i'm fitter.. so i'm guessing age?

Yeah, I know, re: rainbelt. However, in view of the continued drought in CA, and the longer-term prognosis for the SW overall, I'm in the process of changing my opinion on the rainbelt. At least they'll have water. And water means--they'll have food. CA agriculture is in trouble.
Make an effort on their appearance? I'm not sure what that would mean. They dress decently enough, are in shape, don't use makeup, are average in appearance. One's a little on the pretty side with waist-length hair, but she's like the OP in that "invisible" thread said: body of an 11-year old, and she's petite. So she actually does get mistaken for a kid or a teen a lot. Another one has an unusually dark complexion, dark wavy hair, dark eyes, so she doesn't look "white", even though she's totally of Brit and Brit/French heritage ( many generations back). So her looks are unconventional in that sense, otherwise average. Also kind of a boyish body. To say that women like this have a "high volume of men" chasing after them, or any volume of men, is ludicrous.
