+1. all men want the dime piece but we are content with low-maintenance average/less-than-average (especially if its just a jump off).
the average looking woman would likely only cold approach a good looking guy; i doubt they would holla' at your average looking cat (except maybe if they get the vibe he is looking to wife her).
Some of the guys here keep saying this, but it's not true. I knew women in college who had their eye on the average guy, the dorky guy, and finally made a move. I've been to social events where the women approached all the average guys, trying to get a conversation going. It seems that it's the average guys who aren't interested in average women, not the other way around.
Absolutely not, again I don't speak for every man here but the point of going up to a girl you like when you are single is to get with them if you have right chemestry. Games are for children and getting straight to the point is for adults. As I mentioned anyways flirting is great and fun but if it's leading no where and if at the end of the convo you need to guess if she likes you, there's a problem.

I was being sarcastic lol. Me personally, if a woman expects me to jump through hoops for her then she's not my type. I am blunt and honest when it comes to approaching women and they can either say yes or no. Right now I am not trying to date anyone because well I've explained it a lot already.
I looked up average looking women and Gabrielle Union and Sofia Vergara popped up. If average men aren't interested in that then non celebrity women are at a stand still.

At the end of the day Ruth, some do and some don't. The men that are saying women hardly ever approach are clearly speaking from perspective. I know from my experience in the city men normally approach far greater than women which is why they(woman) have several options. I don't like talking about my past but I'll bring up one thing. My ex was planning her next move while we were on and off and she was approached by a younger body builder than me and she entertained him(almost sure she flirted since I noticed that a few times in my entire relationship). I was left for this mystery man aka grass is greener on the other side due to how men constantly chase after women. While women have a tendency to be available when they are not because they feel good about all the good things the man is doing/saying to them. Again this is my experience based on where I live and there is no absolute answer but just observation.

Gabrielle Union and Sofia Vergara are well above average, even for celebrities. To use celebrity examples of average women, think Leslie Jones or Kristin Schall.
