Oh, God yes.

No knock on Northern women, but Southern women just seem to take more pride in their appearances. I moved South from Chicago and when I got off the plane for my interview...Well, my God.

I have heard from many of my Yankie guy friends, that yes, there is a huge difference. Southern women take more time on appearance, hair, nails and makeup, etc. Southern woman also seem more laid back and much more approachable and wayyyy less b*tchy . But Yankie men are much different than Southern men....oh yes...they are wayyyy different as well...Some good, some bad lol.

You want an honest woman find a northern woman. We don't sugar coat a situation. Some southern women use what I'd call, false charm, anyone with a brain can see right through their little charade.

Also, Southern women are by far, the most religious people you'd ever meet.

As a southern-raised woman living in the North I'll try to compare. As people mentioned, southern women do spend much more time on appearances. Southern women gossip like there's no tomorrow. They are also much more competitive with each other, though they do so in the "nicest" way. Northern women use the time saved not worrying about appearances going to college or advancing their careers. I can sit down and have an intelligent conversation with most northern women. Down south we talk about other people or our hair. Northern women don't play games. If they don't like you that's it. They just won't talk to you. They'll at least wait until you're out of hearing range to start talking about you. You cannot get by on looks alone in the North as you can in the south. Miss Teen South Carolina would not survive one day up north.

Personally, I haven't noticed all that much difference. Not a sweeping generality ~ I think you find all people in all places, simply because we are such a transient society.

The Southern girls with the way they talk... They knock me out when I'm down there. And the Northern girls with the way they kiss... They keep their boyfriends warm at night.

As far as appearance is concerned, you'll like Southern women if you like really big hair, make-up, and clothing that is about 10 years out of style.

Not my kinda thing, but I'm sure there are men out there who like that.
