How did the theme go?

"Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin' crude.
Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.
Well the first thing you know ol' Jed's a millionaire,
Kinfolk said Jed move away from there
Said Californy is the place you ought to be
So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly.
Hills, that is.
Swimmin pools, movie stars.
The Beverly Hillbillies!"

Default Is There A Difference Between Country Guys And City Guys?

There is no difference.

Anyone who categorizes himself or others on the basis of such external characteristics has not learned who he is, nor how to see others for who they are.

This does not mean that behavior and personality are not influenced by environment, it just means that such generalizations as "Country Guys" and "City Guys" are meaningless.

Kshe95girl, How did you get trapped into florida!? Bet you miss Missouri!

Now as for differences between country boys and city cry babies, ALOT! Cityboys expect the government to babysit them with services while a country boy wants alot less government, as a matter of fact, a country boy would be quite happy if the government got out of his life all to together.

I think there is a huge difference. City guys can keep the same pace that I do. They know I need Second City, Broadway, book stores and museums and take away Thai, just to breathe. It rocks. I sometimes feel like I am competing and I don't like that.

Country guys, not hilljacks, and there is a difference and a whole 'nother thang, are different. These guys know I still need what I need to breathe. They go with me. They do it willingly and they don't have to change personas at all. They also know that I will not hunt, or fish or camp out............I will hike, rock climb and sky dive as long as I go back to a hotel. It's OK. They let me be. They roll their eyes and they tease me but it isn't a tit for tat. They don't ........keep score. Not like that. They still like me. Uneven as it is.

Country guys can make you live in the present. I'm sure city guys can, I just haven't experienced it. Country guys, will listen to you flip and then pull off to some road and pull your hair just right. They make you remember that you live in the present. I have a type A personality and I'm really good with the hair pulling. I like country guys.

Lol there is a MAJOR difference twixt country and city guys. The attitudes are night and day. I see what your trying to say in terms of pesonality traits being universal , so to speak, but there are a lot of other differences that cannot be discounted. I had to live in the city for bout 11 years, I couldn't develop any lasting relationships with city gals, they couldn't understand how I would rather spend a day in the sagebrush with my dog than go to the mall with them and people watch in the food court or something. Country and city aren't just places , they're lifestyles. Thank God I'm a country boy!!

I guess my husband would be a "country guy". He was born and raised in a small Texas town, took care of cattle, built fences, and worked in a grain elevator. He is the sweetest and most kind-hearted man I'd ever met so I'm very partial to the "country guys" out there.
