How about Yahoo dating? It's how I met my husband.

He was local, we had a similar sense of humor, and we communicated via email for a little bit, before we met someplace local, for coffee.

The rest, as they say, is history. :-)

I didn't even know Yahoo had a dating site.

I actually find the prospect very appealing. I was recently dating a woman with 2 adorable daughters, but we stopped seeing each other. I think I just wasn't religious enough for her. I always wanted kids, but didn't have them and now I'm older. I think being a Step-Dad would be great for me.

I admire the OP for pursuing face to face interaction. I understand her frustration going out and about and seeing a bunch of android addicted zombies.

I was going to send you a link, and then realized it's Match.com, through Yahoo.com. I'm sorry, I think you already said you weren't happy with Match.com, because you didn't want to provide your marital status.

I'm not sure it was through Match.com back in the day, when I met my husband...and at the time, it was free. Now it's not.

I'm sorry.
