To the last part - it's true. My kids are very young. My son will have no memories of his dad (he was 5 months old when he died). My daughter might but it's unlikely. Whoever becomes "step-dad" will be the only father these kids ever know. I have been approached by 2 men who find this prospect very appealing but I'm not attracted to either.
I actually find the prospect very appealing. I was recently dating a woman with 2 adorable daughters, but we stopped seeing each other. I think I just wasn't religious enough for her. I always wanted kids, but didn't have them and now I'm older. I think being a Step-Dad would be great for me.
I admire the OP for pursuing face to face interaction. I understand her frustration going out and about and seeing a bunch of android addicted zombies.

I was going to send you a link, and then realized it's Match.com, through Yahoo.com. I'm sorry, I think you already said you weren't happy with Match.com, because you didn't want to provide your marital status.
I'm not sure it was through Match.com back in the day, when I met my husband...and at the time, it was free. Now it's not.
I'm sorry.
