I am attracted to physical features that most women aren't. The guys I'm most attracted to tend to be fairly short 5'4" to 5'9", have thick dark curly hair and a bigger built, not obese nor rail thin, body type. But none of that is actually what draws me in. It's their confidence which radiates through their eyes and a great smile that attracts me.
Just the way you have responded to the comments in this thread would have me looking the other way. Since I have not seen a picture of you, I can confidently say that it is not your looks, but your confidence and your attitude toward yourself that most girls won't find attractive.

But I don't say it in public I simply come here to vent.
We all have insecurities..why are men expected to be emotionless robots who aren't ever insecure or effected by anything?
What they mean is, don't go just for that. Go because you're interested in the topic or activity; choose ones you're actually interested in. Then if you happen to hit it off with someone there over a few meetings, that's a great bonus, needless to say.
I don't have tons of hobbies.. I play sports which is male dominated

I don't consider that to be "too short" or non-studly. I'm only 5' 6"...so, as long as the guy is taller than me - which, at 5' 7.5" you would be - I'd go out on a date with a guy that tall IF he asked me out on a date.
Ever hear of "Faking it 'til ya make it"?
Even if you're not very confident about yourself (and in all actuality, who really IS *that* confident about themselves, unless they're a celeb?), you can FAKE IT until you actually DO feel at least somewhat confident about yourself. A lot of people do that all the time.
