I like when a new relationship reaches the 'calling each other babe' stage.

The first time one of you does it there's that silent acknowledgement that it just happened...then the flood gates are open.

I loved it when me and my significant other would call each other "babe". Sometimes, he'd call me "babelish"...and I *loved* hearing him call me that!

My husband is the first person I've ever reached that milestone with. My full given name has a melodic ring to it, and almost all my boyfriends liked to call me by my first name + last name. They "just liked saying it", is how they would explain it to me.

Now, it always makes me smile to be called a bonafide pet name. A dream realized!

Doesn't both me; it's just not something we've adopted. Although our terms of endearment (Chi-chi and Churchy McJesus) probably annoy the eff out of someone somewhere.
