Old shoe... that actually sounds pretty neat! Not that I'd like being called a "shoe," but the idea behind definitely makes sense. I wouldn't know... I've always been called sweet names and worn uncomfortable shoes.
Well mine isn't so sweet and positive but my ex husbands name was Richard, the first ex husband. Everyone called him Dick for short, well I called him Dick as well but in an entirely different way, as in "don't be such a..."
I have been calling my wife Mo for the last 14 years. I dont know how it came about but I usually noly call her by her first name if im a little angry.

The night my ex husband asked me to move to Dallas with him he told me I was like "an old shoe". He certainly meant it as a compliment but we joked about that all throughout the marriage.
