Who cares about your former friend. If she's mad or upset at you, so be it. Stand the higher ground and focus on your new lady. I'm sure your new girl isn't cool with your ex starting drama, but it's even worse when you give in and respond to your ex. Just let her be.

Sorry, but I personally think "my lady" sounds more classy than "my girlfriend". Of course I could say "my significant other" or whatever.

It depends how its said, really.
M'lady. Your pic for the win! Bwahahahahaha

OP- just no to "my lady".

Signed, a woman.

Just call her your girlfriend. It's fine.

My 88-year-old grandmother was a girlfriend and was fine with it. "My lady" sounds like an affectation.

And ditch the fake friends while you're at it.

I work with a lady who says: "my man". I think I'm the only one who smirks at that. Why is that more acceptable I wonder?
I say "my friend" but some act as if I'm being mysterious...but I'm not going to explain to them anything further than that...

OP- call her by name, or maybe "my lady friend" ....eh-- just call her what you feel like.

"Girlfriend" seems to work for 99.9% of the population.

And yet, some ladies or women have a problem being called girls.
